Setting the musical record straight

In last week’s Journal North editorial, the free summertime concerts at south Santa Fe’ SWAN Park were incorrectly identified as being organized by AMP Concerts.

The wonderful SWAN Park shows, along with the free Bandstand concerts on the Plaza, are the work of Outside In Productions, which has been around for 25 years, and also provides music for shut-ins in senior care facilities, hospitals, prisons and juvenile facilities.

The point of last week’s opinion piece was to urge Santa Feans to support fundraising efforts supporting AMP Concerts – which produces the free summer performances in the Railyard – after AMP’s recent loss of grant money from the Levitt Foundation.

Santa Feans are blessed to have AMP and Outside In providing so much free live music. Both groups do fantastic work, and present a diverse and impressive array of performers that bring people together.

Individual music fans and the business community should do as much as we can to keep both Outside In and AMP Concerts alive and kicking.
