ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Sunday’s sixth annual Day of the Tread sent ghosties and ghoulies walking, running and cycling throughout Albuquerque, scaring up proceeds to benefit Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation, the Casa Esperanza home-away-from-home for families of cancer patients, and other nonprofits.

The Halloween-themed event offered full marathons, half marathons, 5K and 10K runs and walks, and for cyclists, routes that started at 12 miles, “for those little things that go bump in the night,” all the way to 100 miles, that “will surely send the ghouls and goblins back to their graves!” according to the website, www.dayofthetread.com.

Some 1,700 cyclists and 800 runners, some of them ghouls and goblins themselves, participated. To see more photos, go to ABQjournal.com.
