Bernalillo County deputies say the death of a man in Albuquerque’s North Valley on Sunday may have been the result of an accidental shooting.
Deputy Connor Otero said deputies were dispatched around 6:12 p.m. to the 10000 block of 2nd Street NW in response to calls that a man was dead of a gunshot wound.
“The case is being handled as an accidental death as of this time,” Otero wrote in an email.
In a tweet around 7 p.m., the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said that 2nd Street was closed in both directions near Alameda due to police activity.
