‘Lucky Cash’: The Downs offers plenty of ways to win money in March

March will be a lucky month for plenty of guests at The Downs Racetrack & Casino.

Players have a chance at some quick bucks during the “$120,000 Lucky Cash” promotion. Three winners will be selected to spin lucky wheels during each drawing held at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays this month.

Don’t miss the “$27,000 Clover Cash” promotion for an opportunity to win your share of $3,000 in cash every Saturday and Sunday in March. Drawings will be held at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m. Three winners will be selected at every drawing and receive $200 cash. Patrons qualify for the promotion by playing their favorite slot machines.

Head into The Downs on Wednesdays and earn five times the points. Players Club members with a March birthday earn three times the points on their actual birthday and two times the points every Tuesday in March. All Players Club members will receive a bonus five times the points on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.

The Downs appreciates its military guests. Active or retired military members can register at the Players Club to receive the perks of Military Tuesdays. Active or retired military members and their spouses who earn one point will automatically get to play a virtual game that will appear on their machine. Players can win between $5 and $25 in free play.

Players Club members ages 50 or older will be able to play a virtual game when they earn one point on Fridays. Senior players will get a chance to win $5 to $25 in free play. They also have an opportunity to win cash or free play prizes every two hours between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The Downs popular “Instant Hit” and “Early Bird” promotions continue this March. There are 15 “Instant Hit” drawings that take place each Wednesday. Players qualify by earning 25 base points within 30 minutes before each drawing. All of the prizes are free play and must be used within 48 hours of the win. There will be 60 winners each day of the promotion.

Rise and shine and head to The Downs for the “Early Bird” promotion on Thursdays. Players qualify by earning 50 base points. The bonus wheel will appear on the game being played by the guest for a chance to win between $5 and $500 in free play. The promotion ends once $500 has been awarded.

New Players Club members have a chance to win up to $500 in free play just for signing up. New enrollments that earn 15 base points on the same day enrolled will have an opportunity to win up to $500 in free slot play.

The Downs has a number of offerings for hungry guests this March. Players Club members can enjoy their choice of fish and chips or grilled chicken and pesto pasta with a beverage for $6.99. The special is part of the casual dining menu offered at the Crown Room. The restaurant also will be serving a corned beef and cabbage plate for $9.99.

The Downs Cafe offers a full menu with full service seating dining from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. A brunch menu is served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays menu selections include prime rib, grilled pork chops, salmon, chicken-fried steak, sandwiches, burgers and salads. Dinners are available for $7.99. On Thursdays, guests can enjoy all-you-can-eat rib dinner from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Dance away the stress of the workweek every Thursday, Friday and Saturday with live entertainment at the First Turn Lounge. Several bands will keep you on the dance floor, including Fat City on Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7; Tequila Rain on March 12; Black Pearl on March 13 and 14; Sangre Joven on March 19; Black Pearl on March 20 and 21; Severo y Grupo Fuego on March 26; and Gonzalo on March 27 and 28.
