Fatal wreck closes road near county jail

Deputies say the roadway that runs beside the Metropolitan Detention Center was closed for over an hour Sunday evening after a fatal crash.

In a post on Twitter around 6:30 p.m., the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office announced that the wreck required the closure of Deputy Dean Miera Drive at Shelly. The road was reopened by 8 p.m. Sunday, according to a second tweet.
