Santa Feans will have to find somewhere else to have breakfast on July 4.
The Rotary Club of Santa Fe announced Thursday that it has canceled its annual “Pancakes on the Plaza” fundraiser over concerns about the coronavirus outbreak.
The annual Fourth of July event has been held for 45 years and draws as many as 15,000 people.
In addition to the pancakes, the event provided live entertainment, arts and crafts booths and a vintage car show.
“‘Pancakes on the Plaza’ has been the club’s major fundraiser, raising and distributing more than $500,000, in the last five years, to local organizations supporting Santa Fe’s children and youth,” a news release said.
The Rotary Club is hoping to continue its grants program in the fall on a modified level, according to the release.
