ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Bernalillo County Commission last month approved the purchase of two adjacent properties in the Southeast Heights at a total cost of $440,865.
The money will come from the county’s general fund for the purpose of “land-banking properties for future affordable housing needs, including scattered site housing,” according to county documents.
One of the properties is at 517 Cardenas SE. It sits on 0.16 acres and contains a 1,379-square-foot building with four rental units. It was built in 1955.
The other parcel, at 521 Cardenas SE, also sits on 0.16 acres. It contains a 1,173-square-foot, single-family home with a detached garage. That home was built in the 1950s, the documents say.
The purchase price for the home at 517 Cardenas SE was listed as $165,000, and the one at 521 Cardenas SE had a purchase price of $115,500.
