NM Symphonic Chorus concert on radio Tuesday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico Symphonic Chorus may be unable to perform live for locals right now, but will present two hours of performances from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday on KHFM, 95.5 on your radio dial. Several chorus performances will be aired as part of the listener-supported radio station’s Festival of the Performing Arts, organizers said in a new release.

The performances also will be live streamed at KHFM.org available via computer or mobile device.bright spot

Past chorus performances that will be aired include excerpts or all of the following:

– Verdi’s Requiem, composed in 1874 and performed by the chorus in an NMPhil concert in March 2019

– Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein, composed in 1965 and performed in concert by the chorus and conducted by Maestro Roger Melone in December 2018

– Dona nobis pacem by Ralph Vaughan Williams, composed in 1936 and performed in concert by the chorus and conducted by Roger Melone in May 2018

– Mozart’s Mass in C Minor (The Great Mass), composed in 1782 and performed in concert by the chorus and conducted by Roger Melone in March 2020.

KHFM’s Festival of the Performing Arts began Monday and concludes May 26.
