La Cueva graduate Bryce Alford, who played pro basketball this past season in Bayreuth, Germany, said Wednesday he has to cancel this year’s Bryce Alford basketball camp and charity golf outing in Albuquerque in mid-July.

The UCLA graduate and son of former Lobos coach Steve Alford held his first youth basketball camp at La Cueva last summer and a golf tournament with proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Mexico.

Wednesday, he posted on social media, “I’m sad to announce that due to the pandemic we will be cancelling the 2nd annual Bryce Alford Basketball Camp and Charity Golf Outing. Full refund for camp sign ups will be returned.” He added that both events “will be up and running next year!”
