Storms forecast to head to northeast NM

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — June is off to a rainy start in Albuquerque.

On Monday, some areas of the city received as much as 1.5 inches of rain from the afternoon and evening storms, although most regions of Albuquerque recorded .5 inches to 1 inch, according to National Weather Service reports. Lightning and some strong winds were also reported.

Showers were scattered across Albuquerque Tuesday night, but brought less rain than Monday‘s storms.

The National Weather Service forecast predicts the storms will move to northeast New Mexico by Wednesday. Albuquerque has a 20% chance of rain on Wednesday and a predicted high of 93 degrees.
