ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Albuquerque Friends of the Public Library is planning book sales – at bargain prices, mind you – twice a week this summer on Tuesdays and Fridays from noon to 4 p.m. on the lower level of the main library Downtown, 501 Copper NW.

Books and other media will be discounted 80% to 90%, organizers said in a news release.

Shoppers should wear masks or other facial coverings, maintain social distancing and observe limited-occupancy rules.

Members of the group are invited to the soft opening Friday. Book sales will open to the general public Tuesday, June 30.

Admission is free, and two-hour validated parking is available in the parking

structure kitty-corner from library.

For those driving long distances, limited appointments are available Wednesdays and Thursdays by calling 768-5167.

Branch libraries can now accept small donations of books and media during their temporary hours, except for locations that lack space or are now closed. Check hours before you go at

Larger donations should be taken to the main library during current library hours. For more than 10 boxes, call 768-5167 to make an appointment for delivery.
