No appointments needed at two Animal Welfare adoption sites

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Let the in-person pet perusals resume — at least at two places.

Albuquerque Animal Welfare announced that starting Sunday, July 5, adoption appointments will no longer be needed at the Everyday Adoption Center at PetSmart, 3500 Eubank NE, or the Westside Animal Shelter, 11800 Sunset Gardens SW.

“To view and/or adopt pets, simply arrive at either location,” Animal Welfare says.

A code at the door will put you “in line” to enter. When it’s your turn, you will be allowed to enter. “You will have no more than 45 minutes in which to meet a maximum of three pets and process the adoption paperwork,” Animal Welfare says.

The Everyday Adoption Center opens at 10 a.m.; the Westside shelter at 11. The last customer will be assisted at 4:15. Both locations are closed on Mondays.

Meanwhile, the Eastside shelter, 8920 Lomas NE, will continue to require animal viewing by appointment.
