Movies in the parking lot gets extended run

bright spotALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Bernalillo County’s popular and free Movies in the Park series at Isleta Amphitheater is continuing its drive-in edition through August 1.

The films are shown in a socially distanced parking lot venue at 5601 University SE, south of Rio Bravo, officials said in a news release.

Coming movies are:

• Saturday, July 11 — Spiderman: Far From Home.

• Saturday, July 18 — Frozen 2.

• Saturday, July 25 — Lion King (2018 version).

• Saturday, Aug. 1 — Cars.

Every other parking space is used on a first-come, first-served basis, officials said.

Outside food and drink is permitted, but no alcohol. There will be food trucks available.

Moviegoers are allowed to sit outside but only directly in front of their cars, in their assigned space, and they must wear a mask when venturing away from their vehicle for food or to use the restroom.

Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash, and patrons must scoop their pet’s poop.

Gates open at 7 p.m.

No one will be allowed to sit in spaces between cars.
