The rising senior, who has 76 career starts for the Lobos and has scored 959 points, is majoring in Business Administration.
Maluach was one of 10 Mountain West players who made the cut, but just four teams were represented. Utah State had seven players honored in Sam Merrill, Diogo Brito, Brock Miller, Justin Bean, Alphonso Anderson, Marco Anthony and Carson Bischoff. The league’s other two players selected were San Jose State senior guard Brae Ivey and MWC Player of the Year Malachi Flynn of San Diego State, who left the program after his junior season to pursue professional basketball.
To be eligible, men’s basketball players must be in their junior or senior season with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher at the end of the 2019-20 academic year.
The NABC also honors teams for Academic Excellence Awards, with Utah State being the lone Mountain West team honored.
