ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman’s body was found Thursday morning inside a home in Northwest Albuquerque.

Albuquerque police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said officers were dispatched around 11:30 a.m. to a “suspicious situation” in the 1000 block of 72nd Street N.W., near Coors and Interstate 40.

He said police met with a woman who had called 911 and reported a woman dead inside a home. Officers went inside and found a body in the living room.

“A search warrant is being obtained for the residence. The female provided a statement to detectives,” he said. “This is an ongoing investigation and updates will be made when available.”
