Police believe July homicide case was actually suicide

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — After an investigation, detectives believe the death of a man found in a car on Fourth Street last month was a suicide.

Gilbert Gallegos, an Albuquerque police spokesman, said the July 18 death will not count toward the 2020 homicide count, which currently stands at 40.

The man was found dead in the driver’s seat of a car in the 4700 block of Fourth NW, near Griegos, in the early morning.

It was initially deemed a possible homicide due to “suspicious circumstances.”
