ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Homicide detectives are investigating after a man died Tuesday afternoon at a West Side mobile home park, according to an Albuquerque Police Department spokesman.

APD spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said officers are looking into whether an assault over the weekend had anything to do with the man’s death. He said a cause of death will be determined at autopsy.

Gallegos said officers responded around 12:30 p.m. to the 2500 block of Calle Abajo Way SW, near Unser and Gibson, after a woman called to report a man not breathing in a mobile home.

Gallegos said the woman tried to give the man CPR but firefighters pronounced him dead soon after. Officers were told by relatives that the man had been in an physical altercation on Saturday and “refused any medical treatment.”

“Suspect identity is unknown at this time,” he said. “This is an ongoing investigation and updates will be made when available.”
