Man dead, woman severely injured in shooting off West Central

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A shooting in a Northwest Albuquerque neighborhood left a man dead and a woman critically injured Wednesday night.

Albuquerque police spokesman Daren DeAguero said police responded sometime before 8 p.m. to a shooting in the 200 block of 57th NW, near Central and Old Coors. Officers found a man and woman shot and the man died at the scene.

“The female was taken to (University of New Mexico Hospital) where she is listed in critical condition,” DeAguero said. “This incident is still being investigated.”

DeAguero gave no other details.
