State health officials on Saturday announced 164 additional cases of COVID-19 and six deaths related to the virus, bringing the statewide total to 27,512 cases and 847 deaths.
Jodi McGinnis Porter, a Governor’s Office spokeswoman, said those most recent deaths from the virus were:
• A man in his 80s from Bernalillo County;
• A man in his 30s and a woman in her 60s from Chaves County;
• A woman in her 90s from Doña Ana County who was a resident of the Good Samaritan Society Las Cruces facility; and
• A woman in her 50s and a man in his 80s from San Juan County.
The new cases include 31 each in Bernalillo and Doña Ana counties; 15 in Eddy County; 10 in Chaves County; eight in Roosevelt County; six each in Socorro, Lincoln and Luna counties; five each in Sandoval and Lea counties; four in San Juan and Valencia counties; three each in Curry and Santa Fe counties; two each in Cibola, McKinley and Otero counties; and one each in Rio Arriba, Torrance and Sierra counties.
McGinnis Porter said there were also 18 cases reported among New Mexico Corrections Department inmates at the Lea County Detention Facility.
She said there are 68 people hospitalized with the virus and 15,342 designated as having recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.
