NCAA sets spring dates for volleyball, cross country, women’s soccer

The NCAA this week approved the start dates and reformatted championship dates for several fall sports that were postponed due to coronavirus concerns.

For both UNM and NMSU, that means sports like cross country, volleyball and women’s soccer now know when their spring seasons will begin.

CROSS COUNTRY: Men’s and women’s cross country will start Jan. 23 with a March 15 championship consisting of 255 men and 255 women.

WOMEN’S SOCCER: First game allowed Feb. 3, championship May 13-17 with a championship bracket of 48 teams (31 automatic qualifiers, 17 at-large selections).

VOLLEYBALL: First allowed match Jan. 22, championship April 23-25 with a 48-team bracket (32 automatic qualifiers, 15 at-large).

The sports of field hockey, FCS-level football, men’s soccer and men’s water polo also had spring sport dates set.
