House District 15 needs conservative representation

I have noticed that the closer we get to the election, the more hateful the rhetoric from the opposing party becomes. I must be doing something right if my adversary is working so hard to make me look bad. I have been portrayed as heartless and as a person who doesn’t care about children or workers. In reality, I am an educator who actually left the profession to do something more for “my kids.” That is why I am running – for our future generations.

I am proud to be endorsed by the New Mexico Right to Life Committee, the New Mexico Alliance for Life and the National Rifle Association. I received an A” rating from the N.M. Business Coalition. I believe these endorsements show where I stand on several issues.

Where does my opponent (Rep. Dayan Hochman-Vigil) stand? Let’s look at her voting record:

• She voted for multiple tax hikes, increasing the cost of government, across the board – at a time when the state enjoyed a budget surplus. In addition, she voted to take money away from students and teachers and create a slush fund for the governor and legislators to do with as they please, without transparency.

• She voted to keep in place a state law that will allow abortions, including late-term and up-to-birth, should Roe v. Wade be overturned. She has said nothing against abortion clinics being open during the COVID-19 pandemic for on-demand abortions, while the lifeblood of our economy and society – small business, family-owned restaurants and churches – have been arbitrarily shut down by the governor. She has done nothing to save the businesses that have been closed, many never to reopen.

• She voted for the “red flag” law, which places restrictions on the right of New Mexicans to defend themselves in a state with some of the worst crime rates in the nation. Whose side is she on?

• She voted for legislation that would begin to sneak the national Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE) platform into the New Mexico Public Education Department and school district curriculums. CSE begins with kindergartners and continues through 12th grade. The main goal is to take away parents’ rights, bypassing their authority to instruct their own children in sexual education. You can check the NMPED website for more information on the type of inconceivably vile … curriculum they wish to impose on our innocent children.

• She voted for legalizing recreational marijuana, which would have the effect of disqualifying many of our young people for employment at a time when our workforce is already strained.

• She voted for eliminating the Electoral College. This bill surrenders our voice in presidential elections to huge, distant metro regions such as Los Angeles, New York and Chicago.

• She voted for the Energy Transition Act, even though oil and gas revenue provides more than 30% of the state budget. This sweeping regulation will raise electricity rates, eliminate thousands of jobs and decimate government funding.

As the District 15 representative for the past two years, she has embraced and promoted an extreme agenda. It has proven to be very disappointing and ultimately destructive for New Mexico. Her “progressivism” has failed her district, her city and her state.

The only thing I truly own is my integrity, and I intend to keep it. I will vote for New Mexican children, workers, employers, families and individuals. I will use my office to preserve, protect and prosper our Land of Enchantment. The choice is yours. You have the power to make the change we need.
