Police ID recent homicide victims

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Detectives have released the names of three men killed in separate incidents over the past month in Albuquerque.

Albuquerque police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos identified those slain as Juan Fernandez, 21, Tommy Gutierrez, 24, and Joshua Weissinger, 43.

Gallegos did not give any updates on the cases or say if any arrests had been made.

The first incident happened Sep. 24 at an East Central convenience store.

Officers responded around 12:45 a.m. to a shooting at the In and Out Market at Pennsylvania and Central.

Police found Fernandez wounded and he was hospitalized in critical condition. Fernandez died in the hospital the following day.

The next incident happened on Oct. 10 at a West Side McDonalds.

Officers responded around 1:40 a.m to a shooting at the McDonald’s at 1501 Coors NW.

Police found Gutierrez fatally injured and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Then, on Oct. 11, officers found Weissinger’s body in Nob Hill, at Central and Adams NE.

Police have not said what the cause of death was or what time the body was found.
