Cibola deputy shoots person near To’hajiilee

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs is investigating after a Cibola County deputy shot a person Friday afternoon on Laguna Pueblo land.

FBI spokesman Frank Fisher said the officer is uninjured and the person shot was taken to the hospital. Fisher did not give the person’s condition, gender or any other details.

Westbound Interstate 40 was shut down for a few hours east of the To’hajiilee exit as the agencies investigated.
