New Mexicans living in poverty during the same period was 19 percent, which is higher than national figure of 14.3 percent.
The estimates are among U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey estimates for the combined years from 2007 to 2011. The survey includes statistics on a state, city, and even neighborhood level on school enrollment, jobs, and housing. The survey consists of about 11 billion individual estimates, according to a release.
