RRPD toy drive goes to drop boxes

Rio Rancho Police Department

Although the Rio Rancho Police facility has closed to the public, the department plans to continue the annual toy drive.

RRPD Lt. Richard Koschade said drop boxes to collect toys have been set up near the front doors of the police station at 500 Quantum Road. These boxes will be checked and emptied regularly.

RRPD and its Explorers Post 911 are seeking donations of new, unwrapped Christmas gifts for boys and girls, ages 2-12. Although organizers prefer gifts, people can also donate with checks made out to “Rio Rancho Police Explorers Post 911.”

Koschade said the drive-thru event to distribute the toys to local children in need has not been canceled and may be modified as the holidays get closer.
