Police believe West Side slaying was murder-suicide

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Detectives say a shooting that left a man and woman dead last week at a Northwest Albuquerque apartment complex is an apparent murder-suicide.

Gilbert Gallegos, an Albuquerque police spokesman, said Brandon Ray, 28, shot himself after shooting Alyson Weston, 24, on Nov. 4 at the Circ Apartments.

Officers responded around 2:45 a.m. to a shooting at the complex in the 10300 block of Golf Course NW, south of McMahon. Police found Weston dead outside an apartment and Ray with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Ray was taken to the hospital where he later died.
