ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Community events for veterans include:
•A drive-through appreciation breakfast for the first 100 veterans to arrive between 9 and 10 a.m. at the West Central Community Group building at 5921 Central NW. The event is hosted by City Councilors Klarissa Peña, Cynthia Borrego and Lan Sena, as well as the West Central Community Development Group.
•A drive-through event and free meal certificate at the Cottonwood Mall location of Texas Roadhouse between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Veterans who attend may drive through a balloon-lined lane, be greeted by Bernalillo County Sheriff Manny Gonzales and Albuquerque fire trucks, and receive a gift bag that includes a meal certificate.
•Public Service Company of New Mexico is providing a free virtual energy assessment to veterans throughout the month. PNM energy specialists assess home lighting, heating and cooling systems, insulation and appliances, and offer some free products. The assessments can be performed via video call or in person.
