Man hurt in shooting

RIO RANCHO, N.M. — Rio Rancho Police officers responding to a report of a car wreck and shooting found a man with a gunshot wound near Cabezon and Unser boulevards Thursday morning.

RRPD Lt. Richard Koschade said officers were dispatched about 9 a.m. The man was taken to the hospital, and the road was closed for several hours.

“At this time, there does not appear to be a danger to the general public,” Koschade said.

The investigation was ongoing. No more information was available at press time.
