Police seek person of interest in July homicide

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Detectives are asking the public’s help in finding a person seen at a convenience store where a man was slain in July, according to a Crime Stoppers release.

On July 12 police responded around 1 a.m. to a shooting at the Dank Smoke Shop at 901 San Pedro Dr SE. Officers found 23-year-old Chance Elkshoulder shot to death outside the store.

Witnesses told police the shooting stemmed from an altercation in the parking lot and, according to Crime Stoppers, the alleged shooter left south bound on San Pedro on a motorcycle.

“The Albuquerque police homicide unit would like to speak to the male pictured, who is believed to be a person of interest,” the release states.
