ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department are investigating a homicide after a person’s body was found inside of an Uptown area apartment Sunday morning, according to a police spokesman.

“Officers were at this location on a separate incident when they were flagged down by a citizen who reported a strange smell coming from a nearby apartment,” APD spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said in an email.

Officers checked the apartment at 6210 Indian School NEĀ  and found the body.

“Evidence at the scene indicated the individual suffered trauma,” Gallegos said.
