Peanuts fans will have even more ways to watch Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang on their holiday adventures as Apple and PBS team up for a special, ad-free broadcast of “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
The classic will air on PBS and PBS KIDS at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13.
The holiday Peanuts specials will also stream ad-free and in HD on Apple TV+.
Plus, the Peanuts gang will deck the halls with the premiere of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” streaming on Apple TV+ on Dec. 4. The holiday special will be available to enjoy free from Dec. 11-13.
Apple TV+ has struck a deal with PBS to air the beloved 1960s special.
The programs had previously migrated from network television exclusively to the streaming platform, destroying quite a few holiday traditions and annual telecasts along the way.
In October, Apple TV+ said the comic strip-inspired films would stream exclusively on the platform rather than on ABC and other networks this year.
The arrangement was part of Apple TV+’s team-up with Wildbrain, Peanuts Worldwide and Lee Mendelson Film Productions.
The deal made the streaming service the exclusive home for classic Peanuts content, as well as new original series and specials based on Charles M. Schulz’s cartoon characters, several of which have been renewed.
