2 found dead following possible shooting in Valencia County

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Valencia County deputies discovered the bodies of two people after responding to a shooting Friday afternoon in Meadow Lake, near Los Lunas.

Joseph Rowland, a Valencia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said they have no suspect information and the investigation is ongoing. He did not give the gender of those who died or say how they died.

He said deputies responded around 4 p.m. to reports of gunfire in a neighborhood near Navajo and Meadowlake.

Rowland said arriving deputies found two people dead and called in New Mexico State Police to assist in the investigation.

“They’re going to work it all night long,” he said, adding that VCSO will release more information in the morning.
