ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Detectives are investigating after two men were shot, one fatally, following a fight Friday night in Southeast Albuquerque.

Albuquerque police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said the injured man was struck in the leg and is expected to survive. He gave no suspect information.

Gallegos said officers responded to a fight at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Cardenas SE, a few blocks from Kathryn and San Pedro.

Witnesses told police they heard gunfire. Two men were brought to a hospital with gunshot wounds soon after.

“One individual did not survive,” he said.

Gallegos said officers secured the apartment where the shooting occurred and interviewing witnesses.

No other information was released.
