SANTA FE — New Mexico health officials said Tuesday that an internet outage kept them from issuing their daily report on the number of new COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths.
Tuesday’s numbers will be included in Wednesday’s report, which is expected to come out on time.
The outage interrupted the Department of Health’s electronic laboratory reporting system, state health officials said. It also affected some state websites and email accounts.
The state is still notifying people who test positive for the virus and investigating their cases.
The Department of Information Technology is investigating the root cause of the outage.
For the last week, New Mexico has averaged about 1,837 new cases and 27 more coronavirus deaths a day, according to a Journal analysis.
Human Services Secretary David Scrase said Tuesday that new cases are starting to reach a plateau, though they are still at a high level.
