BOISE STATE administrators have reportedly spoken with other conferences about leaving the Mountain West Conference. Football coach Bryan Harsin is quoted with the following: ‘Boise State is the Standard in the MW.’ Just another reason for the rest of the conference to despise them. Of course Lobo fans remember the overturned 1st-down call from 2014 when UNM was running clock and driving for the winning score against BSU. With the arctic temperatures of a city that create travel logistic nightmares, Boise State will soon find out that they are not as wanted as they perceive themselves to be.

UNM AND NMSU are the only D-1 institutions in the USA who have to practice and play home games outside the boundaries of their state. The takeaway from this for Eddie Nuñez & Mario Moccia things don’t always go in your favor when you “make a deal with the devil”.
GOVERNOR, a good leader will analyze, reanalyze, compromise and adjust. There is absolutely no reason why our university student athletes can’t bubble up here at home and use responsible safeguards. Do not envy your position but totally disagree with the decision to force our people off to foreign land. We are New Mexico and a huge part of our culture is Lobo and Aggie basketball. Returning to some sense of normalcy would help the entire state social emotionally, mentally and economically. Governor, do what is right, give the green light and bring our kids and staffs HOME! Go Lobos and Aggies.
I ONCE COMMENTED that if you rob a bank and give the money back you still robbed the bank! By the way I wonder what’s the status of the Paul Krebs investigation?

As reported by the Journal’s Edmundo Carrillo earlier this month, the former UNM athletic director is expected to go to trial in late 2021. He is charged with embezzlement, attempting to commit tax fraud and faces other charges stemming from a 2015 golf trip to Scotland that was paid for, in part, with university funds. — Randy, Journal
AS A third-generation Buckeye, I am compelled to rebut Neanderthal Dan’s Dec. 11 Speak Up! piece. He said that the Big 10 should be sued over rigged, fraudulent and corrupt selection to allow Ohio State play in the Big Ten title game. The bottom line is the CFP committee (said its) mission is to have the 4 best teams in the playoffs. The 13-member CFP committee has steadfastly agreed that Ohio State is one of the 4 best teams in the country, regardless of number of games played. If you want to sue – sue the committee.
