Man arrested after SWAT standoff in Albuquerque

Albuquerque police say a 50-year-old man is in custody after an overnight standoff with a police SWAT team that began with a shots-fired call.

Police spokesman officer Robert Gibbs says callers also told officers they heard a woman screaming in a home about a mile from the Albuquerque International Sunport late Thursday night.

Gibbs says arriving officers discovered a woman was being held against her will by a man in the home. They were able get her out, but the man inside refused to leave and the SWAT team was called.

Gibbs says the SWAT team was finally able to arrest Brian J. Moya Friday morning. He was being held on false imprisonment charges and it wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer.

The woman wasn’t hurt.
