ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Detectives released the names of two men slain last Saturday in separate incidents — a triple shooting and motel death — across the city.

Albuquerque police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos identified the victims as Mark Padilla, 57, and Josh Archuleta, 33. No arrests have been made in either case.

It began around noon when police responded to reports of a body found in a room at the La Quinta at 5241 San Antonio NE, near Interstate 25.

Arriving officers found Padilla’s body inside a room and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have said Padilla’s death is being investigated as a homicide but have given no other details.

Then, sometime before 9 p.m., officers responded to a shooting with multiple victims at another La Quinta Inn, near Gibson and Yale SE.

Police found Archuleta dead in a vehicle in the parking lot. Two other men, one with several gunshot wounds and another who had been shot in the hands, were found nearby and taken to the hospital.

Police have not said what led to the shooting or given any further details.
