Man killed in road rage shooting along Central

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in an apparent road rage incident early Thursday morning along Central Avenue.

Police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos identified the man as 37-year-old Mark Solano.

Gallegos said police responded just after midnight to the shooting in the 5100 block of Central, near San Mateo. Officers found Solano dead inside a vehicle.

Gallegos said police believe Solano was driving east on Central when he got into a dispute with another driver.

“The passenger of the other vehicle produced a firearm and shot at the victim’s vehicle,” he said. “The victim was struck at least once.”

Gallegos gave no other details.
