ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Fire crews doused a blaze at a home Wednesday afternoon in a Northeast Albuquerque neighborhood.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue spokesman Tom Ruiz said nobody was hurt in the fire.

He said AFR responded around 3 p.m. to a house fire in the 9000 block of Fairbanks NE, near Moon and Menaul. Fire crews found light smoke coming from the home and pulled two people from inside.

Ruiz said, from there, firefighters were “met with severe fire conditions” but were able to get the blaze under control and keep it from spreading to nearby homes.

“A great stop today by Battalion 2 and 3 crews working together on a difficult house fire,” he said. “The cause of the fire is being classified as accidental.”
