TRAFFIC: A North Valley Bridge Rehab Project Starts Monday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — That and other motorist alerts in this week’s state Department of Transportation traffic report.

 

— Starting Monday and until further notice, southbound N.M. 313 at Roy Road will have the right lane closed for bridge reconstruction, according to the DOT. Traffic over the diversion channel will be reduced to one lane each direction and limited to traffic under five tons. Heavy truck traffic should use Alameda as an alternate route.

Drivers are advised to use caution and to slow down in the work zone.

The bridge rehabilitation is the first of two planned road projects in the same area.

 

Other roadwork slated for this week includes:

 

— From 9 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday, northbound Interstate 25 between Paseo del Norte and Alameda will have the right lane closed for overhead sign work.

 

— Monday and Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., westbound I-40 at Zuzax (Exit 178 in Tijeras Canyon) will have the left lane closed for bridge maintenance. Wednesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., eastbound I-40 at
Zuzax
will have the left lane closed for the same purpose.

 

— From 9 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday, westbound Rio Bravo at the railroad crossing and Second Street will have the right lane closed for utility work.

 

— Monday and Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., eastbound I-40 at Carlisle will have activity on the shoulder for utility installation.

 

— Ongoing through Dec. 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, eastbound I-40 from Pennsylvania to the Lomas pedestrian bridge will have activity on the shoulder and various right lane closures for utility installation.

 

—  Ongoing through Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays, westbound I-40 between Eubank and Washington will have various left lane closures for diversion channel repair.
