ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Vado 18-year-old arrested Sunday for battering woman in presence of her 2-year-old.
A Vado man was arrested Sunday for allegedly punching his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach, claiming the unborn child was not his, the Las Cruces Sun-News reported.
Damian Daniel Barreras, 18, was charged with one count of aggravated battery on a household member, after allegedly trying to strangle, then punching his 18-year-old girlfriend in the presence of the woman’s 2-year-old child, the Sun-News said.
Barreras was reportedly intoxicated when he fired a handgun into the ceiling of the woman’s home while she and the child were in another room during the March 7 incident, the paper reported.
At the time of the alleged incidents, Barreras was out on bond for another alleged battery against the same woman, Dona Ana County sheriff’s investigator Bo Nevarez told the Sun-News.
