ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A mom who had been drinking forced her 14-year-old daughter to drive when she noticed police in the area, according to a criminal complaint filed in Metropolitan Court Sunday.
Florinda Tsosie, 38, faces charges of child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Albuquerque police stopped Tsosie and her daughter Saturday night after someone reported that the car was swerving and had no headlights on at around Juan Tabo NE and Menaul NE boulevards. When police stopped the car, a 14-year-old was driving. The teen said that her mother pulled over when she noticed police and made her drive, according to the criminal complaint.
Tsosie ‘s blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit, according to the complaint.
The criminal complaint said the responding officer also arrested her drunken driving but that charge wasn’t listed on the document.
