Miguel Ramirez, 21, who has been charged with raping a 6-year-old girl in April 2007, has now been indicted for the attempted rape of the child’s mother, The Taos News reported.
The indictment charges Ramirez with aggravated burglary, attempted criminal sexual penetration and false imprisonment for allegedly attacking the woman, who is related to him by marriage, in her home in October 2008, The News said.
Court documents said Ramirez came into the woman’s room after she had gone to bed, undressed, then got into bed with her and tried to undress her as well, the paper reported.
The woman told police that the struggle awoke her 10-year-old boy, who came into the room and interrupted the incident, The News said.
Ramirez earlier was charged with two counts of criminal sexual penetration of a child and two counts of criminal sexual contact for the alleged sexual assault of the woman’s young daughter in April 2007, the paper reported.
The girl allegedly told authorities in a safe-house interview that Ramirez molested her several times, including forcing his genitals into her mouth, according to The News.

Miguel Ramirez, 21, of Questa, is charged with five counts of criminal sexual penetration of a minor for the alleged rape of a 6-year-old girl, but he could face further in connection with the child’s mother, The Taos News reported.
Ramirez was initially charged with one count of criminal sexual penetration, child abuse, aggravated burglary and false imprisonment in connection with an alleged incident on Nov. 18 involving the child’s mother, but those charges have been dismissed pending further investigation, the News said.
Questa police said the woman came forward with the allegations about a month and a half after the alleged incident, reporting that Ramirez — to whom she is related by marriage — came into her room after she was in bed, undressed, then got into bed with her, the paper reported.
The woman told police that the struggle woke up her 10-year-old son, who came into the room and was allegedly struck by Ramirez, according to the News.
Safe-house interviews with the children led to the rape charges involving the 6-year-old, in which the child alleged that Ramirez had molested her on several occasions, the paper reported.
Ramirez is being held on a $200,000 bond, the News said.
