The crash and boom of the battle is often the focus of most people’s attention — those will come at 2 p.m. each day, with the Battle of Apache Canyon today and the Battle of Glorieta on Sunday.
But the Civil War weekend at El Rancho de Las Golondrinas in La Cienega offers a lot more, from a Civil War-era fashion show at 11:30 a.m. and talks about the contributions of the Buffalo Soldiers between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, to a talk about “Civil War Medicine” at 11 a.m. and a talk about “Victorian Life” at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission to the event at the living history museum is $8, $5 for seniors and teens, and free for children under 12.
