Culinary arts students from four Albuquerque Public Schools high schools whipped up their most mouth-watering creations at the fourth annual Gourmet Plated Dessert Competition on Sunday: ancho chile chocolate cake, raspberry fudge cake, chocolate crepe with strawberry-orange ricotta crème and layer java cake.

And the winners, starting with first place: Sandia High (ancho chile chocolate), Highland High (raspberry fudge), Manzano High (java cake) and Volcano Vista (chocolate crepe).
