ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — 6:10am UPDATE: This morning’s fire that destroyed a shed, then caused extensive damage to a nearby mobile home at 4920 Wilshire NE shortly before 3 a.m., was brought under control by 4:30 this morning, Albuquerque Fire Department officials said.
5:30am UPDATE: The mobile home that caught fire in northeast Albuquerque shortly before 3 a.m. was not a total loss, KOAT-TV is reporting. The owner was not in the home this morning as the fire spread from a nearby shed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Albuquerque firefighters responded to a fire just before 3 a.m. today on the 4900 block of Wilshire NE, near the intersection of Jefferson and Alameda, that was initially reported as a shed fire but had spread to a nearby mobile home, the Albuquerque Fire Department said in an emailed alert.
No injuries have been reported, but KOAT-TV is reporting that neighbors were concerned about the fire spreading to their homes.
Firefighters appeared to have the fire under control at this hour.
