Memorial Day ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Holiday observations around northern New Mexico include an 11 a.m. ceremony at Española’s Veterans Memorial Wall; an 8:30 a.m. Native American veterans tribute at Angel Fire State Memorial Park, followed by a 9 a.m. flag march starting at N.M. 434 and U.S. 64, followed by an 11 a.m. ceremony at the park. Managers of public lands are reminding people that the forests are tinder dry and fire restrictions are in effect. Check out the rules in effect before you head out to a particular area. And the Santa Fe National Forest reminds people that changes have been made about where motorized vehicles can go on forest lands; updated maps are available at Forest Service offices.
