Gov. Susana Martinez to hold high-profile Washington D.C. fundraiser

Numerous national Republican heavyweights are lining up to help Gov. Susana Martinez raise campaign cash next week.

Guests scheduled to attend the June 4 reception in Washington D.C. include U.S. House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, among others.

The cost to attend the reception is $500 per individual, according to an invitation for the event. The cost to be a host or sponsor is even higher.

Martinez has traveled extensively out-of-state in recent months, holding campaign fundraisers in Arizona, California and Colorado (more on that here). Some political analysts have noted the increased travel reflects Martinez’s growing national profile.

However, the Washington D.C. event will arguably be the governor’s biggest fundraising splash on a national stage.

The identity of donors from next week’s event — and how much money is given — will not be known until October. That’s the next deadline for statewide candidates to submit campaign finance reports with the Secretary of State’s office.
