“We are able to accept partial payments again and will be happy to help set you up on a payment plan to get you current again,” Treasurer Manny Ortiz said in a news release.
Ortiz’s office began mailing past-due tax notices on Monday.
Payments can be made in person at the treasurer’s office in the basement of One Civic Plaza downtown from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, or mailed to: Bernalillo County Treasurer’s Office, P.O. Box 269, Albuquerque, NM 87103-0269.
Payments can also be made online by visiting www.bernco.gov.
Bernalillo County collects more than $600 million in property taxes annually on more than 270,000 parcels of land. There are currently more than 29,000 delinquent property tax cases, according to the Treasurer’s Office.
Residents can get an estimated breakdown of how their individual property taxes are spent by visiting www.bernco.gov/mytaxdollars.
