UNM anthropology building took a direct hit

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico’s anthropology building took a direct hit from one of the campus’s old Ponderosa pines in Friday night’s epic wind and rain storm. Alan Billau, one of the campus arborists called in to deal with the aftermath, said he thought the tree was likely 70 to 80 years old. The building did not suffer major damage, but this pair of Ponderosas look like they’re done for:
